Regionale vedetten
De belangrijkste regionale vedetten, Albert Zoer en Jur Vrieling, wisten zonder problemen het basisparcours foutloos en binnen de tijd af te leggen. In de barrage kregen ze gezelschap van nog zes concurrenten, met op papier Gerco Schröder, in 2008 nog winnaar in Zuidbroek, als gevaarlijkste tegenstander.

Gerco Schröder startte als vierde en hij leek met Glock’s Dobelensky de winnaar te gaan worden. Maar Bart Bles wist dat als laatste starter te voorkomen. De 38-jarige ruiter uit Babberich bleek zelfs bijna drie seconden sneller te zijn. ,,Dit paard heeft een enorme galop”, verduidelijkte de winnaar.

Jur Vrieling stelde het eigen publiek niet teleur. Hij eindigde met KM Chalcedon (v. Calido) op een prima vierde plek, achter Sabrina van Rijswijk. ,,Op dit moment met dit paard het hoogst haalbare. Ik moest het voor dit publiek wel proberen, maar we zijn eigenlijk nog te kort een combinatie”, aldus Vrieling.
Albert Zoer plaatste zich ook voor de barrage, maar had daarin pech. Zijn Florian ging met de achterbenen dwars door de lastige groene steilsprong. De ruiter uit Echten werd achtste.
